of molecules called trophic factors that you're well acquainted with that actually change the shape of the eyeball so it's not really the structure of the retina or the lens of the cornea the actual degree of elongation of the eyeball changes changing the way the the retina sits relative to the lens and that seems to be light dependent early in life and uh which gives rise to uh uh to uh a higher incidence of myopia
