High dose tumeric for men. It’s a DHT crusher for many. Bad for mood, libido and strength (if someone is sensitive to it and many are).
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
Many people that I've talked to who have have taken turmeric get a severe blunting of affect and libido.
The other thing about turmeric is there was a study published out of Stanford in collection with some work from other universities showing that a lot of turmeric is heavily contaminated with lead. The lead is used to get that really rich, dense, orange coloring to it that everyone wants to see, so you have to check your sources of turmeric. The other thing is, for men in particular, turmeric can be very antagonistic to dihydrotestosterone. Dihydrotestosterone is the dominant form of androgen in human males and it's involved in things like aggression and libido and things of that sort. Many people that I've talked to who have have taken turmeric get a severe blunting of affect and libido. For some people that might be a serious negative. I certainly avoid turmeric. I don't like turmeric for that reason.
curcumin is a potent inhibitor of DHT so I do want to caution that people who take high doses of curcumin and some people who are very sensitive to curcumin will even at low doses experience reductions in DHT that lead to things that they would not like such as sufficient reductions in libido
In fact, there are some negative effects of things like curcumin, turmeric, if you take it in high doses, like limiting the amount of dihydrotestosterone production, which is not good. You don't want that. Male or female, you don't want to take too much turmeric or curcumin. There are real issues with that. To say nothing of the studies that have shown lead contamination in a lot of turmeric.
