i don't think fluoride is something that we have to avoid religiously in our lives and i don't think we should be looking for low fluoride foods i think we should be eating the best foods that we can and getting the fluoride that naturally occurs in those foods but there are areas of the world where fluoride does occur like i showed you the graphic from africa at higher levels in the drinking water and it's questionable what the optimal level of fluoride is in the water i don't think we know what the optimal amount of fluoride is for humans in a day i don't think it's zero because i think it would be very hard to get zero fluoride but i'm not convinced that it's as high as current recommendations if you go to for instance the oregon state university's linus pauling institute's post on fluoride what you will find is that they are saying that the i believe it's the rdi so the adequate intake for fluoride for adults males is four milligrams per day i'm not sure it's quite that high or i'd agree with that three for infants they say quite a small amount for children they say point seven or one who knows i think the amount of fluoride we should be getting is the amount of fluoride that occurs naturally in well-raised foods
