glycine is important so glutathione is is you know cysteine glutamine and glycine and there's a supplement and acetylcysteine which kind of bypasses one of the rate limiting steps for glutathione said this is by giving you know the acetyl group on the cysteine and like I think there's something about the cysteine in milk and this has actually been studied in egg whites as well though I'm not an advocate of doing egg whites raw egg whites too much because you can deplete your biotin with the avidin finds biotin right yeah but raw egg whites and whey protein have been studied and there's there's a variant of cysteine I believe in these that's been shown increase glutathione not the only way but it's one way yeah so I'm a big advocate of you know consuming properly raised meat for that purpose I also you know I mean I'm a big personally might you know I eat plants I you know I like to consume dark leafy greens cruciferous vegetables things like that I mean I feel that when a person is exposed to you know environmental pollutants it's good to do whatever you can to upregulate you know the synthesis of these compounds and you know glutathione obviously being one of them glycine and became really interested in I mean I definitely am a fan I've been a fan of collagen for a while but I've had enough conversations with Chris Master John where it caused me to really do a deep dive into into the role of kalaiy seen in detox vacation and you know obviously the more muscle meat you consume the more methionine you're ingesting and you need that glycine to buffer Matheny and I like to say that I'm eating you know organ meats every day but the truth is I'm not I supplement with collagen protein as well but if you're not getting adequate amounts of glycine which is as you mentioned rate limiting in the synthesis of glutathione I think it becomes important to to you know to go out of your way to get more glycine in your diet there's been a number of studies showing that glycine can actually improve sleep
