the shikimate pathway that is blocked by Roundup and glyphosate Roundup is you know the the trade name that got plugged on by Monsanto but it also came off patent in 20067 and so now every weed killer in the world you know 95% of them have glyphosate as an active ingredient and so uh the initial intent was block the shikim pathway so that when you spray a plant it can't make its proteins and therefore it dies very quickly and so that was the initial you know mechanism of action of this wheat killer as it was initially patented
