Carbohydrates do not cause or worsen insulin resistance.
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
I do not believe that carbohydrates cause insulin resistance per se I definitely see people on Instagram sometimes saying that carbs are toxic and this is just false like I have never said that I do not believe that carbohydrates are toxic for humans
But for a healthy individual who has normal gluc glucose responses, normal insulin functioning, carbohydrates are not going to suddenly cause you to become insulin resistance.
so carbohydrates do not cause insulin resistance um not all carbohydrates are treated equally but um a fasting insulin should be low you can get a sense of how your fasting insulin is going to be by using a cgm and i think these two go hand in hand they really complete the picture looking the phenotype so the actual way that your postprandial glucose looks can also indicate insulin sensitivity versus insulin resistance
carbohydrates don't cause insulin resistance
so carbohydrates don't make you insulin resistant
my fasting insulin is drum roll 3.6 micro IU per ML and I eat 3 to 400 grams of carbohydrates a day
