And the fact that this thing in your inner ear that we call the cochlea is coiled, is actually really important to understand because along its length, it varies in how rigid or flexible it is, I already mentioned that before and at the base, it's very rigid and that's where the hair cells, if they move, will make high-frequency sounds, and at the top, what's called the apex, it's very flexible and it's more like a bass drum.
