We all have beta endorphins, we all have POMC, et cetera, but redheads make more of these endogenous endorphins. Now this, of course, should not be taken to mean that redheads can tolerate more pain and therefore should be subjected to more pain. All it means is that their threshold for pain on average, not all of them, but on average, is shifted higher than that of other individuals.
