the high fiber group increased their fiber intake from about 20 grams per day to an average of 40 grams per day so they basically doubled their fiber intake and the fermented food group increased their intake from zero servings of fermented foods to about five to six servings per day um and so then this is the results they of course expected their hypothesis was that the increased fiber intake would boost gut diversity but this is um the high fiber group on the left and when you look at the alpha diversity so this is observed asvs or the number of unique microbes doubling fiber intake had no effect on diversity
