I I II bunk in my book I actually am NOT a fan of his research I think it was cherry picked unfortunately and we can talk about why I I'm not so excited about it
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
the problem with any of these type of constructs and is that they they're cherry picked right there are many regions of the world Hong Kong Iceland where there is also a higher than average proportion of centenarians and super centenarians who eat diets that are nothing like the Blue Zones quote-unquote diets
the Blue Zones in my opinion are nothing less than a fallacy the Blue Zones are basically Ancel Keys cherry-picking and basically what Dan Buettner and his colleagues did was choose five regions of the world the Acharya region of coaster of the Akari region of Greece Sardinia the Nicoya region of Costa Rica Loma Linda California and Okinawa and they tried to extrapolate what their diet was and say and they also looked at lifestyle and they try to say hey these places have exceptional longevity
Number one I mean it's it's the invention of dan buettner and national geographic and they picked five regions of the world loma linda nakoya region of costa rica sardinia and italy um acaria and greece and okinawa and they said these regions where people live longer than average they have a higher percentage of centenarians which people live longer than a hundred years well they left out all these other regions
the blue zones oh boy these guys eat an awful lot of fiber from plants paul we'll have to do a whole separate podcast on the blue zones i've i've gone hard on the blue zone stephen there's so much inconsistency and it's really a set of cherry-picked data there are so many places in the world where longevity is much higher than the average you know city or state or country that are left out of the blue zone
blue zones are [ __ ] they're just five regions of the world that Dan buettner and a team from National Geographic chose to call Blue zones
