Stem cells are present in all of us from the very beginning of life. When sperm meets egg, that cell, which we think of as the egg, starts to duplicate, it incorporates the DNA from the sperm and the egg, of course, starts to duplicate, and then those cells give rise to more cells and more cells and the ability of all those cells to replicate and create more cells are because those cells really are stem cells.
