first of all almost all of the best ways to detect traumatic brain injury except the most severe ones tend to require a lot of very large equipment like MRI and functional MRI and CT scans none of which are available on the side of the field or in the locker room but also because many many if not most of the effects of traumatic brain injury are going to occur not in the immediate minutes or even hours after the injury but several hours days or even weeks after that injury
