This is not only NOT right, it's not even wrong. Having worked on CR, resveratrol, NAD, and even rapamycin over the past two decades, in mice and in many different species that don't get obese, this is incorrect.
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.
