Well, if you take a normal magnesium supplement that you can buy at the pharmacy, it doesn't cross the gut very easily. And if you would take enough of it to get it in your bloodstream, you start getting diarrhea.
Citrate is not very well absorbed. This is not the type of magnesium to take to raise your blood levels of magnesium. You will have diarrhea. You will have disaster pants first on this. Magnesium citrate is generally what you take when you want to uh poop.
