Yoga Nidra/NSDR (Non-Sleep Deep Rest): replenishes dopamine, reduces cortisol, reduces total sleep need.
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

Certainly the small amount of data that exists now point to the fact that they are, not the least of which is a beautiful study published out of Scandinavia showing that a 30-minute yoga nidra aka NSDR practice can replenish levels of dopamine, which puts people in a position to be more action-oriented and focused, et cetera, when they come out of the yoga nidra, so certainly a very useful practice.
Yoga nidra and NSDR have been shown in a fair number of studies, not as many as been done on traditional meditation, or I should say third eye centered meditation or mindfulness meditation, but have been shown to replenish levels of certain neuromodulators like dopamine and reduce cortisol, reduce a stress hormone at least as much and, by my read of the literature, significantly more than with traditional meditation.
all of the things that we are describing certainly move the needle away from locus coeruleus activation. And we haven't done the experiment to really look at that. But it seems all these things are counter to noradrenaline release.
in fact the science around Yoga Nidra is really impressive showing that after a Yoga Nidra session levels of dopamine in certain areas of the brain are enhanced by up to 60% which places the brain in body into a state of enhanced Readiness for mental work and for physical work

what they observed was really interesting they observed at least by Patron emission tomography that people who did this hour Yoga Nidra protocol experienced a 60% above Baseline increase in dopamine in these key brain areas just from this hour of lying there completely still trying to stay awake listening to this script relaxation I think like this is wild
