So many seasonally breeding animals, Siberian hamsters which I mentioned earlier, rabbits, fox, other animals, change their color of their coat. In the winter they tend to be a lighter color, sometimes pure white, sometimes with flecks of black or brown. And in the summer their pelage changes to a color of you know, brown or red, some other vastly different color. That shift is controlled by light and by melatonin.
