when bdnf binds to track B receptors on neurons it does a lot of things it sets off a whole Cascade of things including the insertion of new glutamate receptors so that those neurons become extra sensitive to any input they get so that's one form of change that bdnf can create bdnf can also alter the overall shape of neurons it can cause neurons to grow new branches so that it can receive new inputs from other neurons
