Now, a discussion about serotonin that's complete would take many, many hours, but suffice to say that serotonin is a neuromodulator, much like dopamine or acetylcholine or norepinephrine, in that it modulates the activity of other circuits. It's critically important for mood. In the gut, it's critically important for gut motility, for ease of digestion, and for gut health.
