and then finally it inhibits carnitine pidal transferase one now cpt1 now that's the enzyme that regenerates carnitine carnitine is the shuttle mechanism by which you get the uh fatty acids from the outer mitochondrial membrane through to the inner mitochondrial membrane so that they can be beta oxidized for energy so if you don't have that c uh cpt1 you're basically carnitin and therefore you can't generate um beta oxidation
