I think the absolute levels of nad are just as important as the ratio
now when we're thinking about the sirtuins they that you said something really important that i want to highlight for people they sense nad levels it's not so much the ratio between nad and nadh but their their nad sensors so when nad levels are high the sirtuins can be active is that correct

the big thing is that any D agent to any D ratio is very important and one of the important things is that when lactate which can come from from like the muscle and the liver takes it up and the lack tape becomes pyruvate and that can then eventually become glucose - that's gluconeogenesis it needs nad but if you have metformin you don't have as much nad so lactate to pyruvate slows down and therefore you don't make as much glucose and that's another reason why metformin has its anti-diabetic properties
