if you are doing a ketogenic diet your thyroid is a little bit hurting and my subjective experience on a low carb zero carb carnivore diet was that i was cold
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

think that if people are super excited about ketogenic diets they've only to measure their body temperature or their subjective tolerance to cold to realize something is off with their thyroid probably not a good thing and that may connect to other abnormalities in human physiology
my ketones were anywhere from8 Mill molder to 1.5 m M so most people would say I was in ketosis and my electrolyte issues were profound um and I've I I guess not everyone gets these issues but I have seen and worked with a lot of people who have developed profound electrolyte issues on longterm ketosis and so it's interesting when I looked at my labs my testosterone was going down my T3 was really low my T4 was sort of normal but I I look at my reverse T3 was going up

I'm just not sure that that ketosis is benign for All Humans all the time and I think that your point is well taken around the food addiction
my ketones were anywhere from 0.8 millimeter to 1.5 millimolar so most people would say I was in ketosis and my electrolyte issues were profound um and I've I guess not everyone gets these issues but I have seen and worked with with a lot of people who have developed profound electrolyte issues on long-term ketosis
when I look at the literature I see I see studies like this that say hmm like there there are there is some evidence that at least in some people long-term ketosis can negatively affect well I would say moderate term ketosis four weeks of ketosis at least in that study anything over a day perhaps we would consider long-term can affect cortisol metabolism negatively can affect thyroid hormones can affect all sorts of things
I think that my my short take on long-term ketosis is that the the ketogenic Community doesn't do enough Justice to the fact that a lot of people in long-term ketosis end up with really significant electrolyte insufficiency uh massively impaired thyroid function which you can see in the freet T3 and the freet T4 and lower body temperatures suggesting lower metabolism and probably some indication of torper if we believe that's going on
