how they came up with this number of 175 is basically they look at the organs in a woman's body that are obligatory glucose users so basically our red blood cells parts of the brain small part of the kidney and that number is typically like probably somewhere around 70 and then they look at two standard deviations ends up around 90 and then they look at the increased calorie requirements of pregnancy it's like an extra 300 calories per day which probably adds like another 30 35 carbs and then they look at the carbs that the baby would be need need to use obligatory and that's like another 30 carbs and then they just round it up so sometimes I came up with this number 175
