and risk of confounding from things like healthy user bias is pretty low with meat consumption (which does not associate with healthy behaviors in the broader population).
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
many of the studies with vegan and vegetarian diets are calorie restricted as are as was the twinkie diet as are these potato diets because you simply cannot eat enough calories from potatoes so anyone with metabolic dysfunction is going to see an improvement in their overall health and insulin sensitivity when they have calorie-restricted diet and even if those calorie restricted diets are composed of some of the least uh bioavailable nutrients or foods that are in what i would consider to be less optimal for humans they're they're going to see an improvement at least in the short term
these are observational studies there is no actual research here with an intervention these are surveys that are done and we know these are confounded consistently by things called healthy user bias and unhealthy user bias
is it just an observational epidemiology study and could it be confounded by things like healthy user bias which is a fancy term that means well potentially in the study people who are eating more plants might be more likely to play tennis on Sundays to get in the sun to go for a walk to have colonoscopies and mammograms to see their doctor more frequently to be of a higher socioeconomic status
so this healthy user bias permeates everywhere and by the way it permeates in both directions
