the proportion of energy from carbohydrates to total energy in the men versus okinawa versus akita is different with the akita sample being higher than the okinawans
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

the proportion of animal fat and total fat is higher in okinawan men versus the akita sample which is mainland japan and this essentially the same for women's women are about the same between these two things between okinawa and akita and akita for the men the men have more animal fat and total fats notably the error bars here are pretty uh pretty large but uh and the differences were not significant
the proportion of energy from proteins uh in the okinawan when is actually significantly higher so that one is higher than the akita sample the proportion of energy from fats to total energy uh is significantly different and higher in the okinawan sample versus akita in the men and in the women and the proportion of energy from carbohydrates to total energy in the men versus okinawa versus akita is different with the akita sample being higher than the okinawans
the men in okinawa get more of a proportion of their energy versus the total energy from protein they get more from fat and they get less from carbohydrates
well that's strange because when I've heard characterizations of the okan diet they're saying it's all these root vegetables and it's super high carbohydrate again this is not actually what is eaten in Japan according to the surveys nor is it what people observe they State here in any case, the proportion of proteins of animal origin was higher than in recent Japanese according to the National nutrition survey in 1989 uh animal protein accounted for 52.9% of total proteins in the average Japanese
