I know personally for myself that if I limit calories too much, I could get down to 7% body fat. Sure, I might look more shredded, but my testosterone is going to decrease. I want to be fertile. I want to have kids, guys.
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.
