Lane will counter ketogenic claims by saying the amount of insulin released when you eat protein is the same as when you eat a carbohydrate and that is not true contextually dependent right that may be true on a mixed diet if we are using glycolytic metabolism if we are eating carbohydrates if we are if we are glycogen replete if we are not in a low carbohydrate state if we are not making ketones it may be true there are some studies which show that giving someone protein increases insulin to a similar degree as bread but in a ketogenic state on a low carbohydrate state that is not true
