i think that long-term ketosis and otherwise healthy humans is a recipe for basically unfixable electrolyte issues muscle cramps palpitations sleep disturbances and hormonal imbalances
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

the level of the kidney and thus you get long-term ketogenic side effects electrolyte issues manifesting as muscle cramping heart palpitations sleep disturbances and often hormonal disruption as well
some have suggested that at the time my problems with a pure carnivore diet may have been due to my over consumption of organs to me this is absurd i know so many people who have not eaten anywhere near the amount of organs that i was eating on my carnivore diet and had similar problems with long-term ketosis electrolyte issues heart palpitations sleep problems hormonal issues etc
the problem that we basically invariably run into with humans is that long-term ketosis is not sustainable for us as humans and so is it a tool yes is it the end result is it the end thing i don't think so make sure it's not sustainable i'm pretty sure it's not sustainable why because the kidney needs insulin signaling to maintain electrolytes and what i've seen so often so often is that we run into palpitations we run into cramping we run into sleep disturbance we run into hormonal changes with long-term ketosis it's just the body really struggles to maintain electrolytes without some level of insulin signaling at the at the kidney uh and electrical maintenance
