so if you string a bunch of carbon atoms together they're all bound to hydrogens that's the beginning of a fatty acid molecule the only difference is that there's a carboxylic acid group on the end it's a fatty acid so the carboxylic acid is c double bonded to o and then oh at the end so it's essentially a chain of carbons and hydrogens with a little bit of oxygen on the very end that's what a fatty acid looks like and a saturated fatty acid is every carbon is bound to the maximum number of hydrogens there are no double bonds in a saturated fatty acid and the the resulting molecule if you model it out is a straight like line it almost looks like a worm right it's essentially a straight worm molecule with carbons and hydrogens and at the end is the carboxylic acid group and so that's that's a saturated fat
