when we eat plant fiber we make butyrate when we don't eat plant fiber when we eat protein and fat we can make isobutyrate and acetate and propriate
The headline is broadly defensible, but the qualifications matter. Effect sizes vary by population, the strongest claims rest on shorter trials, and credible voices push back on how it's typically framed.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
you mentioned that isobutyrate can be can be made from protein which is cool it can be made from short-chain fatty acids and i saw you share this paper at a previous i think this was at the ancestral health symposium or somewhere else i saw you share this one but you just mentioned it again we'll put this in the show notes guys but this was one of the ones you mentioned that kind of talked about the way that butyrate a short chain fatty acid could have signaling roles but then other short chain fatty acids like isobutyrate could also serve the same signaling roles in the gut
