with regard to raw broccoli specifically there are studies in pigs showing that when you feed pigs who have intestines that are pretty similar to humans raw broccoli you see increased damage to DNA in their colon in their intestines
it's important to note that cooked broccoli and frozen broccoli did not have the same effects on the colon in these animals
