so um i came across this one recently when i was kind of looking for like what what does lead to increase diversity if you know fi it's not fiber and you know fermented foods are maybe moving the needle a little bit but um i found this study and surprisingly they found that uh paleo dieters in urban italy have microbial diversity levels equivalent to the haza and i'm going to show a figure in a second but this was published in plus one and it's really interesting because it's commonly said that we've lost about half of our ancestral diversity in industrialized populations but this study basically found that if you look here they're showing the italians on a modern paleolithic diet in red and italians on a uh mediterranean diet in blue and then they're comparing these two three more indigenous tribes um the hads of the matsai's and the inuit
