I don't think people need to be supplementing with fish oil it's highly oxidized already and you can get enough from a well-constructed diet
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
I think that it's probably very valuable for humans to eat fish but I don't think we need to eat massive amounts of omega-3 and I think that most of the data from my perspective that shows that omega-3s are valuable it has to do with the ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 and if the omega-6 is super high if the linoleic acid in our diet is enriched if it's too much then yeah we might need more omega-3 but if we're gonna decrease the omega-6 in the first place I don't think we need mega doses of omega-3 to be optimal humans and from an organic chemistry perspective that makes sense to me because regardless of whether it's a polyunsaturated fatty acid that has the first double bond six carbons from the end or three carbons from the end they're all going to oxidize and I fear that mega dosing with Omega could lead to higher levels of oxidation in ourselves higher levels of oxidized LDL higher levels of LP little a higher levels of this these same sorts of things but I just want people to know that we need some omega-3 but I am NOT a fan of mega dosing of that
I'm sure we could find I don't know if there's actually a study showing that seed oil uh fish oil I keep saying it it's like the same thing fish oil increases ldol oxidation but I wouldn't be surprised if there's actually data on that maybe not in humans but certainly in in vitro which would be suspect and we need to make sure we look at that carefully
