A couple years later, I did in fact start taking a thousand milligrams per day of EPA in fish oil.
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

I do that by supplementing fish oil. There's debate out there as to whether or not it's better to take EPA NDHA in particular ratios, and whether or not DHA can impact the LDL, which is the so-called bad cholesterol. That's getting really down into the weeds. And we can talk about that in a future episode. But for myself, I notice a pretty substantial positive effect of taking anywhere from 1000 milligrams to 2000 milligrams of EPA per day.
I choose to ingest fish oil mainly in liquid form, because that turns out to be the easiest way and the most economically affordable way to do it for most people. So there are various forms of liquid fish oil out there. Some of them include some lemon flavoring, so it doesn't taste like fish oil, because frankly, fish oil, to me, is sort of noxious tasting. And I'll take a tablespoon of that, or two, per day. If I'm traveling, I'll use the capsule form in order to hit that threshold. For me, about two, sometimes even three, grams per day of EPA.
I make it a particular point to ingest anywhere from one to three grams, that's grams, of EPA essential fatty acid per day. I make it a point to do that with the ingestion of high quality omega-3s.
I make it a point to ingest one to three grams of EPAs per day.
I take 1.5 grams of EPA, which is not to say 1.5 grams of fish oil. You need to look at the package and see how much fish oil but then look at how much EPA.
So I take anywhere from one to 2 grams of EPA per day, even if that requires taking six rather than the suggested three capsules per day or taking a full tablespoon or even two tablespoons of fish oil.
I do take EPA and DHA in the form of liquid or capsule fish oil capsules not because I have a an effection for capsule over liquid it's just going to increase my compliance if I take I've done both and I noticed when I was taking liquid because you're storing it in the fridge it's just it's just one more step removed and I was just less likely to remember to take it twice a day
I make it a point to try and get 1 to two grams of EPA per day just as a general mood you know I'm not clinically depressed but just to support my mood to support Focus to support well-being um including cardiac function
I make it a point to take at least a gram of EPA form of essential fatty acids through in the form of fish oil — probably more like two grams per day is what I'm shooting for
