now for the zcore that one at the bottom that's going to compare you to a healthy individual of your same H and gender to see if there's a uh if you're within W's average above that or below that 0 points Z what would be normal
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
we use the t-score to make the diagnosis of osteopenia if that's one standard deviation below the mean or osteoporosis if you're I believe two and a half standard deviations below the mean
if your if your zcore is zero you're at the 50th percentile of the population um if your zcore is one you're a full standard deviation above the mean so what's that you're in the 85th percentile if I'm doing the math correctly
A zcore of zero means you are right in the middle of the distribution. And if you're in the middle of that distribution, it means you are you have a higher bone mineral density than 50% of people and a lower bone density than 50% of people.
If your zcore is + one, it means you are one standard deviation above the mean, which means you are you have a higher bone density than 82.5% of the population and a lower bone density than 17.5% of the population.
Of course, this works in reverse. A zcore of minus2 means you have a lower bone density than 97.5% of the population.
If your zcore is plus.2, two, it means you are two standard deviations above the mean, which means you're at 97.5% you're you're higher than 97.5% of the population.
