The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.
And more broadly in terms of new drugs, new multi-centered clinical trials that will play out over the next few years. And these could be drugs that are already safe and approved for other purposes, but we might say okay, now we know that this medication, based on what we know from causal optogenetics, this could be useful for this other purpose, this psychiatric symptom.
