psilocybin is serotonin if you look at the structure of psilocybin and it looks like serotonin so we're talking about is a massive dose of Serotonin and psilocybin appears to bind near selectively to a particular serotonin receptor and the outcome seems to be enhanced or more more broad connectivity between brain areas that normally are not communicating with one another

And as you mentioned, psilocybin is a serotonergic agonist. So it activates, as far as I know, the 5-HT2A receptors and maybe others as well which obviously, serotonin is a pharmacological target of many different antidepressants.
