I think sodium can indeed be problematic for some people with hypertension or pre-hypertension, but for many people, sodium is a great thing. It can increase blood volume in ways that can be helpful to them. It can improve nerve cell function in ways that can be helpful to them, and for me, anytime I'm exercising and sweating a lot, I want to replace my electrolytes and that means replacing sodium for adequate neuron function, muscle function, and so on.
