I base my exercise on the scientific literature, which has shown that maintaining muscle mass is very important for a number of reasons. The two main ones are, you want to maintain your hormone levels. I'm an older male losing my testosterone and muscle mass over time. And by exercising, I will maintain that, and have, in fact, I probably haven't had a body like this since I was 20, so that's one of the benefits of having this lifestyle.
