for the majority of their diet they are eating foods they have hunted and gathered there's no seed oil there is no processed sugar there are no preservatives and they are not suffering chronic disease
we went to visit one group maybe 45 members no one is obese not a single person is obese actually that's not true there was one woman who was obese and and i knew the story behind this because the guy i went with had seen her before he's been going to visit the tribe for 12 years and she's actually the wife of the chief i think and he'd asked the chief or he'd ask someone like what what's going on with this lady you know she got a lot more ob since last time i was here and their answer was oh she's been going to live with the missionaries in the city what do you think she eats in the city with the missionaries seed oils cornmeal processed sugar all these kind of things so that that's the only member of the tribe that's even obese at all
So, this is an N of 1, it's an interesting anecdote, but it does illustrate that even hunter-gatherers can get fat if they eat a Westernized type diet.
