when I use it on the red filter during the day I am much less likely to use it when it's like this it's much less pleasing to look at when I'm on the full blue mode it almost looks like pieces of candy and I I think the Instagram icon is designed to look like a piece of candy or something this is this is recapitulating our visual perception of ripe fruit the visual Instinct that I get with an Instagram icon is that's a piece of ripe fruit I'm going to click on that I want that I mean there's a bunch of ripe fruit here on my iPhone that's like a tree full of ripe berries you can't look away but when I click to the red or the gray scale it's much less interesting and I could just go on do what I need to do and I'm much less likely to put it down and I think and I probably research about this that this has less of an effect on dopamine in my brain
