One of the things that's not appreciated about red meat. And I'll just mention this is that it's not just that they have more of these three branched-chain amino acids that prevents mTOR from doing its good stuff to the body. There's also a molecule called TMA that is in the meat that goes into the bloodstream, the liver turns it into a toxic molecule called T-M-A-O. And this TMAO is showing, at least in animals, probably in people, to enhance, accelerate cardiovascular disease.
