Um and the damage per drink is more for women for most things than it is for men for partly due to body size but also partly probably due to some hormonal things.
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
across the board women fare worse with respect to alcohol than men so you know the the first and most obvious explanation for this is simply body weight right so if you if you sort of said like you know women consume 45 gram of ethanol per day versus men who consume 45 grams of ethanol per day of course the women should do worse um and I do think that body weight and in particular lean mass because remember lean mass is where we see water and that's going to Aid with the metabolism of of ethanol um that's that's a part of it but we also know that women contain less um uh alcohol dehydrogenase which is an enzy that's responsible for the metabolism of alcohol
