she noted that since doing a strict carnivore diet for the last two months she had not had a menstrual cycle
The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

I do not believe that a carnivore diet or a ketogenic diet is bad for a menstrual cycle or fertility I've seen so many examples of people improving fertility that I can't believe that that is a feature of the diet uniquely
and then I decided to convert to carnivore and know I've lost my period so about 35% of the time so one in three this is probably what we call hypo hypo so hypothalamic hypogonadism so basically the ovary works it is making hormones but the brain and the ovary are not communicating like they're supposed to
but in the face of all those things being normal it's usually hypothalamic hypo cone at all yeah and I think the problem that most people run into is not enough calories and on strict carnivore diets they are very safe gating
but I think for a lot of people it ends up being a calorie thing more than a macronutrient thing although there is some individuality and I think we're still learning here
Stress in general if the body perceives something as stressful sometimes it will shut down reproduction so it could be that they went from eating a lot of carbs to all of a sudden going to a carnivore diet which I mean I always like people to actually kind of like go into the carnivore ish world first but sometimes I think in women's bodies it can be stressful so it could just be the stress of a new lifestyle that has caused this
I think that if women are having menstrual irregularities on any diet there's something that's a little off a lot of times on quote ketogenic diets it might not be enough protein or it could not be enough calories I recently released a podcast with Jamie semen we talked all about women's hormones there are many examples of women with PCOS and insulin resistance related menstrual irregularities having significant improvements on low carbohydrate diets like carnivore specifically
