one suggestion or one potential protocol would be if you're going to sit down and do some work, if you're already feeling alert and focused, no need to reach to this tool, but if you're feeling like your focus and alertness isn't quite where you'd like it to be, you could take a three minute very cold shower or submerge yourself in cold water for three minutes, you might have a cup of coffee as well and then sit down and do that work, maybe even throw in the 40 HZ binaural
