curcumin and turmeric not only are anti-inflammatory but they also can impinge on other Pathways in particular hormonal Pathways and in fact curcumin AKA turmeric can alter the synthesis of something called dihydrotestosterone
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

there is evidence that curcumin will affect testosterone negatively
but there's many negative effects of curcumin as well including the fact that it can negatively affect testosterone uh do you is that worth it to you it's not worth it to me even if you're a woman you want your testosterone for your sex drive and your libido modulation of akr1c2 by curcumin decreases testosterone production in prostate cancer well great but it's also going to decrease testosterone production in non-prostate cancer uh in many individuals and we've known this there is evidence that curcumin will affect testosterone negatively this can't be ignored
there's evidence that turmeric decreases androgens so the active ingredient in turmeric uh you know curcumin May decrease Androgen precursors in both men and females so that's not a good example exactly
modulation of akr1c2 by curcumin decreases testosterone production and prostate cancer yeah it probably also decreases testosterone production of healthy males
