It's hands down the biggest screw up of the entire medical field in the last 25 years.
We can't find evidence that holds up here. Proponents are reasoning from mechanism or analogy rather than direct human data, and the most credible skeptics raise objections we can't dismiss.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
definitely top 10 pet peeves are maybe top 5 pet peeves are doctors that completely disregard menopausal perimenopausal and post menopausal symptoms and women and who without having ever even read a single study or tried to understand the limits and the methodologies of the Women's Health Initiative come to the conclusion well no woman should ever take hormones and they should just you know deal with their post menopausal hot flashes and and perimenopausal symptoms and eventually you know let them lose their muscle mass and bone density because God forbid hormones cause cancer or some other equally knuckleheaded conclusion
I still believe that the the the sort of mainstream medical community has committed a gross Injustice uh over the past 20 years uh in the misinterpretation of the women's health initiative and uh the subsequent demonization of hormones in perimenopausal and post-menopausal therapy for women and as a result of that many women have been significantly harmed
And then over the years, you know, then they published the paper and and as we talked about, you know, before we did this podcast is that they misinterpreted the data so drastically and scared everybody so with so much fear that you actually have an entire generation that has forgotten how to prescribe hormone therapy.
