it's worth noting that Ritalin is not actually amphetamine Ritalin is what's called methylphenidate and methylphenidate Works in a lot of ways that are similar to the way that Adderall and Vyvanse work but there are certain ways in which it's different now Ritalin methylphenidate does increase dopamine transmission at synapses and it does so also by inhibiting the function of that presynaptic dopamine transporter that would otherwise suck more dopamine back into the presynaptic cell
