Teaching dogs to stay in the initial parts of the predatory sequence can be a strategy for dogs that chase wildlife.

“And then I know that some some um trainers are working specifically to to help dogs who chase wildlife for instance. And it's about teaching the dog to stay in the first parts of the predatory sequence to do the sniffing, the the uh the pointing and the the um the eyeing behavior and then getting reinforced for that so many times so that it becomes like a feedback loop that they they see a they see a deer running across the road and they go, "Mom, I saw a deer." And they get reinforced for that.”
