there are there's a group of animals called muscle aids ferrets badgers Martens and weasels which are also carnivorous and they lack neu5gc - but they commonly consume other animals that do possess this molecule
The headline is broadly defensible, but the qualifications matter. Effect sizes vary by population, the strongest claims rest on shorter trials, and credible voices push back on how it's typically framed.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.
Would love a "what would change this verdict" RSS feed. Sign me up if it exists.
there are other species there are other small mammalian species that do not have new 5 gc specifically the mustelids like ferrets they also have lost new 5gc who knows why they probably have a defect in the same enzyme the cmah enzyme and they consume animals like humans that are rich in new 5gc so that is something that is a very good model
a notable exception are the musculids ferrets martins their relatives known for preying on various small mammals rich in new 5 gc and what we do not see in ferrets muslids and their relatives is massive cancers in nature or complete extinction
