The evidence is convergent. Multiple independent sources reach the same conclusion, the underlying mechanism is well-characterized, and even the field's most cautious voices treat it as worth doing.

Every Sunday: the week’s new conflicts and verdict changes — and nothing else.
Native comments, Twitter mentions, and Reddit threads about this claim — surfaced together so the conversation isn't fragmented across platforms.
Bookmarking — the dossier-vs-overview split is the right call. Most of the time I want overview; sometimes I want receipts.

the scent the people who lived to over 100 in like i think it was okinawa almost exclusively they were omnivore and they had no uh vegetarian even though there are quite a few a lot of vegetarian people they had known in the 100 years or older bracket
the okinawan diet if you look at this paper nutrition for the japanese elderly there's a quote in this paper that's actually in my book in which they said they did not find a single centenarian among the vegetarians in okinawa and imagine that the okinawans also eat they also eat lots of meat and so they looked at all these and they found there wasn't a single centenarian right here unexpectedly we did not find any vegetarians among the centenarians in okinawa
they say unexpectedly we did not find any vegetarians among the centenarians what yet okinawa is advanced all the time by plant-based advocates as an illustration of blue zones but none of the centenarians were vegetarians isn't that interesting
and as this paper that i'll show you right now shows in loma linda among the among the vegetarians the sperm characteristics were horrible so this is what i'm talking about if you want to be a vital fertile libidinous human that has a healthy libido and likes to live a basically a full life that is strong and vital i don't think you want to live like these guys in this blue zone and then i want to show you a couple of other papers that do talk about the other blue zones and how they eat meat if you want to go down this rabbit hole determinants of all cause mortality and incidence of cardiovascular disease 2009 to 2013 and older adults this is the icharia of the blue zone study if you look at the study you can look at what they eat clearly they eat meat in korea so why has it become the narrative that these are plant-based zones i have no idea that is what the media does here is the study from the japanese centenarians nutrition for the japanese elderly and if you read through the study what you will find is that there were no centenarians among the vegetarians
the researchers found and all these references will be in that podcast which you can go back and listen to that there were no centenarians among vegetarians in Okinawa so there is really no excess longevity in vegetarians in Okinawa from what I can tell based
in Okinawa pork is a significant component of the diet and historical research on centenarians in Okinawa found that none of these people were vegans or vegetarians
and if those you are watching on YouTube I will show you the part of the paper where they actually say this very clearly unexpectedly we did not find any vegetarians among the centenarians
their conclusion is that modifiable modifiable risk factors such as physical activity diet smoking sensation midday naps might depict the secrets of long livers
